About this tool
What Edit PDF Metadata does
Every PDF carries document properties: title, author, subject, keywords, the software that created and converted it, and the two dates. Exported files often keep the author name, the company and the original file name, which is exactly what leaks when a document is sent outside. This tool reads those fields in your browser, lets you fix or clear them, and writes a new file — the page content itself is never touched.
- Read before you changeThe current title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer and dates are shown first.
- One-click privacy modeClear every field at once when a file must go out without any authoring traces.
- XMP handled honestlySome files carry a second XMP copy that Adobe and file managers read; the tool tells you and can delete it.
- Unicode fieldsMetadata is stored as text, so Chinese, Japanese and accented titles are written correctly.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Info dictionary and XMP?
The Info dictionary is the classic property block most tools edit; XMP is an XML copy that Adobe products and some file managers read. This tool edits the Info dictionary and, if you ask, deletes the XMP stream so the two cannot contradict each other.
Does clearing metadata make the document anonymous?
No. Metadata is only the property block; the page content, embedded images, form values and fonts are still there. Treat it as removing authoring traces, not as anonymisation.
Can I put Chinese text in the fields?
Yes. Metadata is a PDF text string, not rendered glyphs, so the built-in fonts limitation of the watermark tool does not apply here.
Why does the producer say ToolPouch.ai?
That is our signature when the file was produced by another tool on this site. The producer field is editable and privacy mode clears it.
