About this tool
What Image Compressor does
Compress images until they fit a limit you choose. Set a target file size and the tool lowers the quality step by step, then shrinks the dimensions if quality alone is not enough. Pick several files at once, compare every result with the original, and download them one by one or as a single ZIP. Nothing is uploaded.
- A target file size, not just a quality sliderType the limit your form accepts — 200 KB, 500 KB — and the tool finds the highest quality that still fits. No more guessing with a slider.
- Dimensions as the second leverIf low quality is still too heavy, the longest edge is reduced step by step and the conversion retried. Every result tells you which dimensions it ended up with.
- Up to twelve files in one runDrop a whole batch. Each file keeps its own result and can be downloaded separately, or all of them as one ZIP.
- Results you can compareOriginal size, new size and the percentage saved are shown per file, so you can see immediately when WebP is not the right answer for a particular image.
- Nothing is uploaded or queuedDecoding and encoding happen in this tab. No account, no server round trip, no stored copy.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I compress an image to 200 KB?
Switch to the target size mode, type 200 and press compress. The tool lowers the quality until the file fits and, if even 10% quality is too heavy, reduces the dimensions as well.
Does compressing reduce the image quality?
Lossy formats (WebP and JPG) do lose detail — that is what makes the file smaller. The tool keeps the highest quality that still meets your limit, and tells you the size and dimensions it used so you can judge the result.
Why does my PNG barely get smaller?
PNG is lossless, so quality does not apply. For a big reduction choose WebP or JPG, or cap the longest edge. Keep PNG only when you need transparency or exact pixels.
Can I compress several images at once?
Yes. Up to twelve files per run, all processed in this tab. Each result is listed with its original size, new size and saving, and the batch can be downloaded as one ZIP.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Every file is decoded and re-encoded inside the browser tab; nothing is sent to a server.
What if my image is still too big?
The tool reports when a file could not reach the target. In that case lower the target further, cap the longest edge, or switch to WebP — the per-file result shows exactly what it managed.
